United Way of New Canaan becomes part of the New Canaan Community Foundation

On July 1, 2009, the fundraising and grantmaking activities of United Way of New Canaan became a part of New Canaan Community Foundation. The legacy of United Way of New Canaan is continued through the Foundation's Neighbors United program. For over fifty years, United Way of New Canaan helped improve community life by identifying, communicating and responding to current and emerging human services needs. The organization provided help directly to those in need, including crisis intervention, emergency food and shelter, family counseling, physical rehabilitation, and youth development. Linking this proud tradition with the work of the New Canaan Community Foundation ensures that local needs will continue to be met by a Board with a strong local community identity and focus.
